Our Founder & Director - James Mullen

James Mullen is the founder and director of Christ Satisfies Ministries. He and his wife, Anne, have three children -- Titus (8), Phoebe (7) and Hadassah (5).  James ministers in North Minneapols, MN, where the family is a member of Family Baptist Church, which is pastored by Dr. Lee Ormiston.  Dr. Ormiston is the founding pastor of Family Baptist, which has been actively involved in urban ministry in North Minnapolis for the past thirteen years.  The local church is a crucial element in ministering to the urban community where James and his family currently minister.  CSM and Family Baptist partner together to reach this commuity with the saving message of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

James has had four years of biblical instruction under one of the nation’s foremost Bible teachers, Dr. John MacArthur, pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, CA.  A graduate of The Bethlehem Institute (TBI), James previously taught one of the institute’s core curriculum courses, Theological Foundations I.  TBI is the teaching arm of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN, which is pastored by Dr. John Piper. James and his family sat under Dr. Piper’s teaching for approximately three years.

James' ministry includes the following:

• Licensed Minister of the Gospel & Sunday School teacher at Family Baptist Church in North Minneapolis, MN
• Evangelizing people in the North Minneapolis community
• Conducting weekly & monthly outreaches among 4 main groups: gang members/drug dealers, prostitutes & pimps, the homeless, and local residents
• Teaching Bible studies at Christian recovery/treatment centers, local jails & prisons, and to members of the local church
• Exhorting the broader church regarding the importance of utilizing the various means of grace
• One-on-one discipleship of men who desire to know Christ and His Word more intimately
• Preaching Truth in various locales
• Chaplain of Lazarus Auto Detail, a Christian ministry that hires the difficult to employ i.e., felons, those exiting drug treatment facilities, etc.
• Co-host of Lazarus Radio. a weekly radio program aired on KKMS 980AM Saturdays from 2-3 pm

For the past several years, James has ministered in the Hennepin County jail 3-4 times each week teaching Bible studies to the inmates.  James is also the Chaplain of Lazarus Auto Detail, which is a non-profit Christian ministry that provides work for those who are hard to employ -- felons, those coming out of drug/alcohol treatment facilities, etc.  In this capacity, he ministers at Lazarus approximately 20 hours each week.  James teaches 7 Bible studies at two different Lazarus locations (Blaine, MN and Brooklyn Park, MN) for two work crews/shifts.  In addition, he spends time discipling, counseling, and praying with the men who work there.
